October 18, 2019 – June is my friend from working the Mix! parties at the art museum. She always requests to work with me and I am so pleased that she does that. We have been threatening to go out to lunch one day and this was that day! So out I pulled outfit number five, my attempt at country club chic, an outfit any wealthy woman (except I am not wealthy, nor was the outfit expensive) might wear for lunch out with the ladies.
The club is right on the lake front and very exclusive. We had a late afternoon lunch, so there wasn’t a lot of activity. I was treated very well, from the valet to the waiter to the club manager. June was stylish as always and we simply had a free and easy hour and a half lunch and conversation. The time flew by and it was simply two ladies chatting, getting to know each other better. Really, really special!
From there I headed across town where I would eventually be meeting Sherry. Since the day was so perfect, mid 60’s, clear skies and bright sunshine, I took the opportunity to pose a bit!

I walk up to the sign and there is a young couple there, taking pictures. I offer to play photographer for them and they happily accept. We took quite a few in different poses and placements around the sign. They were visiting from Detroit and I told them that I gave them a story to tell when they got home! They reciprocated by taking a few for me and we both moved on.
Then I hit my consignment store and picked up a pretty sizable check on recent sales, so that was nice. Then over to a bar for a few cocktails as I waited for Sherry to navigate the crosstown traffic. We then met up at the Third Friday event at 78th Street Studios, always a favorite activity for me.
We walked throughout the four floors of art studios, live music, vendors and other folks walking around. I must have seen maybe fifteen people I knew from one place or another or who knew me from previous visits there. Pretty cool. I spent quite a bit of time at an exhibit by the two principal rock photographers of my lifetime in Cleveland. I talked extensively with both, what a thrill! I bought a photo of my wife’s favorite artist (I got big ups for that!). As I did this, Sherry spent the time in a lengthy conversation with one of the photographers’ mother, a delightful woman! But how dumb am I? I had these two Cleveland icons extensively engaged with me and you would think I would ask one of them to take my picture? A lost opportunity. And Sherry and I never thought to take a picture together. We may lose our CD cards!
The whole evening was fun and I greatly enjoyed my time with Sherry. We ended the evening up at a local brewery, grabbing a bite before I headed home and Sherry did……….well, I’m not sure, but something tells me we may find out very soon!
