It’s Easier Than You Think

If you are able and if you want to go out and if you are frightened about it, really, it’s easier than you think. I am not sure why you wouldn’t if you are able. For almost 50 years, I didn’t have the circumstances and I get that. But if you’re sitting at home wishing you could go out, do it. Use your head. It’s really not that complicated.

October 6, 2019 – It was Sunday, my wife was working, I didn’t have a race so off I headed to Sunday services. Days like this are why life is so wonderful. I got dressed, had an extended photo session and headed to the bank for my first stop.

Then I hit a craft store to pick up some jewelry items and scout out my Halloween outfit (I refuse to wear a costume, never did as a kid, never will now). Then I did my usual, went to church a bit early, plopped myself down and let everything and everyone fill in around me. A lovely service, where I got many smiles, greetings, hugs, squeezed hands and was made to feel absolutely loved. If you are able to find a place like this, you have life figured out. This is what it’s all about.

After services, I did some much needed shopping at a very crowded Walmart (every single cart was in use). Just a great day all in all.

So here is the outfit I decided a few weeks back not to wear because of the heat. Perfection! Smiles, comfort, love, closeness to the Big Guy, what more could one ask for?

That dress is way better than you can see here. It’s right back in the immediate rotation for the upcoming holidays.

October is jammed packed with galas, Halloween charity events and networking opportunities. I am looking forward to each and every opportunity to get out. I even have a new experience forthcoming. Plus a doubleheader! There were two events I was dying to get involved with. One of which I incorrectly listed on my calendar when I booked them. Ends up they are on the same day. Oops! Fortunately one is early and the other late, so I am going to be in my heels from about ten that morning until probably eleven that evening! Oh my…..

In November the cavalcade of holiday events are on the horizon. I am very, very lucky to be me, despite all the trials and tribulations. I am not at all lucky to do what I do because I actually think things through, I take calculated chances and I live my life. Luck has nothing to do with it.

As our friends at Nike once said (over and over again), Just Do It!

Sherry, Pat and Dee take the wheel for three of the next four days and then what might have been my best 36 hours out dressed!!
