October 17, 2019 – Plexus held another networking event at CLE Urban Winery. Outfit four of my October outfit/event run. I swear, I am going to be exhausted when this is all over! So I’ve worked a great cancer fundraiser, saw a beautiful presentation, went to an inspiring awards ceremony and am now networking in a cool space. I still have a trip to a very high end country club for lunch with a friend, an evening out with Sherry, a chorus fundraiser, another networking event, a huge Halloween gala and a double header with a fashion show and a big fundraiser being held at Browns stadium.
So this Talbot dress screamed my name, especially at the $3 price I got it for! It just speaks for itself. Classic, business-like, flattering. Not quite as comfortable as it doesn’t give too much, but it’s worth it for my presentation.
I headed out the door a few hours early and plopped down at a Panera Bread and noodled around on my computer (writing some of this post) and read a bit. I still love mainstreaming, being out and about like any other woman. I believe I looked like I am awaiting a meeting later in the evening.

The event itself was wonderful! The space was really cool, the folks working there were very nice. The wine, well, you know….
I had two long and meaningful conversations. The first was with a professor from one of my alma maters. My dream job from the jump was to be a college professor, but since I actually know a little about a lot, but not enough of something to teach, that never happened. But I digress. I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation. She teaches music, another one of my hot buttons. It was a half an hour very well spent!
I renewed a handful of friendships and enjoyed the food. I met a few new people and cannot tell you how wonderful and welcoming Plexus is! I have never for a moment, now a member for a year, not felt completely at ease and comfortable and more importantly, a contributor to the mission of the organization.
Then I had an extensive conversation with one of the more delightful people I know, who is involved in the social media business. I felt like I was from the stone age in terms of my ability to understand all of it and she is only a few years my junior. Anyhoo, I pretty much opened myself up on so many levels, expressing my desire to capitalize on my ability to write, this here blog and my hope to save my dear friend Kandi from extinction if I have to take on more truck driving work. She was so damn cool and I am hopeful this is headed somewhere, somehow, some way.
An afternoon and evening very well spent. All because I am curious, I put myself out there and don’t quit. Believe me, I have had many, many reasons to curl up in a ball and call it a day. But people, actual, real, individual people are gifts from God. Get out there!!
