November 7, 2019 – Plexus held an Akron-based networking event at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. Stan Hywet is Akron’s first and largest National Historic Landmark, and is also the nation’s 6th largest historic home open to the public. It is an accredited museum of the American Alliance of Museums, one of 157 in Ohio and one of only 1,056 in the United States. The Estate includes five historic buildings and ten historic gardens on 70 acres. The collections and furnishings in the Manor House are all original to the Estate.
A few months prior, in principally total darkness, I was at Stan Hywet to hear “Runners….Set…..Go!” and begin my Akron Marathon experience. That day I was in my running gear. This day I wore this lovely Tommy Hilfiger royal blue dress, one of my outstanding October outfits, the one I was unable to wear in October. Plus I took my new do for it’s first full day out. A very cute dress I hope to one day be able to wear to work (yeah, right……). A gal can dream, can’t she?
This was day two of a four day run, me jamming myself up again, but not all my fault. Open invitations with some folks all coalesced around this week. Look, I love dressing. I love my Kandi time, but it is draining when done over an extended period of time. I was spent a few weeks back and am moving in that direction again. Thankfully, the annual week long Thanksgiving shut down is on the horizon. The kids (young adults) will be home and all will be good. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I am pretty damn good at turkey making and very good at my Thanksgiving morning race. But I digress….
The event was great. I actually made some very real connections, one of which was with a delightful woman who happened to be an executive at a local major corporation. The great thing about that was we had been talking and sharing for quite some time before that even came up. I met so many great people I hadn’t met before and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Days like this remind me of what is really important in life, people. Connecting with, accepting, sharing, supporting others. Here are a couple of good looking ladies and a tire.

I have to say, I didn’t expect such a wonderful response to my two self-congratulatory posts! Just know, it meant a lot
