By Marie Anne Greene
Dear Reader, we (Kandi and Marie) both recognize that each one of us is different not only in the physical, mental and emotional aspects of our personality, but we each have a different approach to creating or activating our female psyche and presentation image.
In the recent E-Mail exchange you read yesterday, Kandi stated her getting ready to go out as Kandi and Marie’s getting ready to bring Marie forward are two completely different approaches. Kandi stated her preparation “is work, a necessary chore”.
Another perspective, – That is Marie’s – The preparation and process means everything. It begins with a mental image of where and what Marie wants or has to do and what to wear. Fortunately, for Marie shedding male indicators is minimal, a close facial shave is about it, plus trimming eye brows. Body hair is a once every three or four-week event which is taken care of by a hair removal cream and a warm shower followed by a luxurious scrub with a perfumed Body Wash. [Editorial comment: if it were only that easy…..]
Kandi, continued with her perspective “This is different things for all of us”.
Marie stated she had learned/evolved this approach and found it to provide her with a greater sense of Marie Anne and her Feminine Soul. It begins when Marie selects the “going out” outfit or her choice of sleep wear or for a little at home fashion show. After the selection, the choices are placed with her Pink-Fuzzy Wrap-Around towel and matching lingerie positioned immediately outside of the Frosted Shower stall, along with her bejeweled warm slippers.
Then after a delicious warm Body Bath shower and gentle drying herself with the Pink Wrap-Around while gazing at her “Girl’s Photo Board” (A mosaic collection of more than fifty snapshots of Marie’s development) Marie’s next my next step in bringing Marie Anne to full life is stepping into her lingerie then placing her “Crowning Glory” to frame her face. This latter step is a true image change in the male/female appearance). With both hands she next grabs the Glory with both hands and pulls it back and with a quick double twist of a “spongey” knots the hair into a short pony tail.
Marie then and only then, stepped to the mirror positioned over her makeup counter and witnessed the essential femininity of Marie Anne. Always a great joy.
After soaking in the reflected image for a few seconds, and feeling the full sense of her previously hidden femininity, Marie shrugs into a Silky Dressing Gown (Short or Long) and begins the creation of a glorious (or at least pleasing) Feminine Face. Marie thoroughly enjoys each step in the application process which further creates her GIRL IMAGE concluding with a fantastic smile.
Now with any stray hairs out of the way she deftly grabs a cotton ball saturated with …. and carefully she wipes her full countenance from hairline, behind the ears, over the apples of her cheeks and down beyond the chin and swinging below it her smooth neck allowing a full minute for it to dry. Next follows the same exercise with a tiny bead of ……. moisturizer, gently running this magic golden elixir to be absorbed below the skin where its softening effect has its greatest impact. Patience must be exercised at this point for two minutes until the skin is both soft and totally dry.
Depending on her assessment of her under eye area she may very delicately apply a very tiny, smaller than a pea, dab of Concealer to that delicate skin area until it is well blended in. Again, a full minute of waiting before applying a fingertip of foundation slowly and gently to the full face again from hairline to the invisibility at the throat. With each step in this process Marie feels the joy of her femininity encompassing her whole being.
With these small building blocks in place, our Gal now begins the artistry of color and all the enhancements it brings to the feminine image that she sees in the reflecting in her make-up mirror with its tiny row of surrounding lights. Her order of choice is eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, blusher to her apples, then fine powder applied with a puff and blended in from hairline, forehead, nose, cheeks and chin with a fine brush. Lastly but not to be demeaned is your choice and clean application of lip color, perhaps a touch of lip gloss.
Marie learned this work of artistry as presented in the eight steps laid out clearly in the 1967 Edition of SEVENTEEN Book of Fashion and Beauty. This perfect relic of a more innocent age was a gift from Marie’s Girl Guide-Dream Maker Phoebe. A reminder that good things age well.
Dear Reader as you may have assessed there are at least THREE ways to make your GIRL come alive – Kandi’s view, Marie’s perspective and Yours and in any comparison, YOURS is the BEST approach. Go for it with patience, dedication, inspiration and see the fun and joy it may bring you.
PS. As you know, the selection of just the right outfit, its fit and feel and choice of jewelry and other accessories from the shoes to purse and coat, cape or shawl and perhaps even a hat. The last, but definitely not least is your personal choice of perfume. Have fun being the inner you!
