……right now……over me!

August 16, 2020 – My second day back at the art museum in a volunteer capacity and it marked my return as Kandi! The outfit I wore on this day I had intended to wear a few times recently and it kept getting bumped either because the outing was cancelled or because another outfit spoke to me.
This is what I call my traveler skirt, with a pretty pattern (the traveler pattern), featuring pink, yellow, green, a bit of black and of course, the white background. I went conservative with the pink t-shirt, a favorite pair of pink shoes, a pink purse and the yellow necklace and chandelier earrings to tie it all together. I escaped disaster the day before as I tripped on a 13.1 mile run. I have tripped twice before. The first time, I tore up my knee (skin only, not the functional knee). The second time I fell on my face (not easy to do if I had tried), giving me a black eye and swollen face while shattering an expensive pair of bifocal sunglasses. This time, in the millisecond I had to think, I contorted my body such that I only suffered small scrapes to both knees and a small skin wound.
This mural is fairly close to the art museum and I have been wanting to shoot some pictures here for a while. It is on the side of The House of Swing, where they sell musical instruments and next door to a CVS. Since it was Sunday morning, I figured I would have some peace and quiet, which I mostly did (with the exception of the Mayfield Road traffic). It was difficult as a solo artist to get a good, clean shot of the mural, but I did my best. Here is a little montage of my work.
It was a bit windy. Usually I look better in photographs than I do in reality. This day, I looked much better in the real world than here.
Then I reported for my two hour shift. A friend was working the Member Desk that I stand next to, so we basically talked for two hours on a slow Sunday morning. Things picked up after my shift, which was okay with me! I received a few comments on my outfit and a few specific complements from some co-workers, which always makes me happy. One was on my pretty earrings. Another was how she always likes to see how I am accessorized. One choked me up quite a bit. As I was taking to a patron, my friend told me as I spoke that my hair framed my face in a very pretty way. Oh my……..
Where I stand, there is a piece of art which I really cannot describe. It is basically a freezer with some type of copper form which over time grows into a snowman and just keeps growing. Old Frosty was much slimmer last week. Here we are!

Another lovely morning spent at the art museum, in a place where I am 100%, absolutely and completely accepted for the many versions of me. If you can find that place, cling to it and never let go. They are few and far between!
