“I Love Your Aesthetic!”

August 2020 Supper Club

Who knew I had an aesthetic?

August 12, 2020 – You don’t hear that often, but when you do, you know you look spectacular (and your knees buckle a bit)!

On this day, I held my second Supper Club, which included my friends Betty and Daphne, whom we met last month; our girl Sherry and a darling (GG) co-worker and two of my favorite humans walking the planet, Annie (who was celebrating her 28th or so birthday!) and Carrie (who is a ball of energy and defines happiness when I see her!). I am so blessed to know these wonderful people.

I saw this dress at Burlington, on the clearance rack (where else?) and fell head over heels in love with it! It defines feminine grace, so pretty. And I was so pretty in it!

I got dressed and made my first stop at ULTA, to pick up a headband, which I wore after having taken my photos. As always, I had a wonderful conversation there, just making me feel like I belong, which of course, I do.

Then I hit the mall to walk around and to continue my monitoring of the NY&Co. store closing sales. And again, I picked up a peach shift dress (small, yeah!) and a great set of bracelets. 80% off, then another 10% off.

Then I hightailed it over to Taste, the restaurant, grabbed a barstool and awaited my company.

Everyone got there about 6:00. It was well after 9:00 when we all left. It seemed like we were there for 10 minutes. Every one got along very well, conversation was on-going and it was truly a ladies night. We had a great deal of the place to ourselves (COVID, of course) and a wonderful waitress (you cannot go wrong when you walk in and she tells you LOVES your dress!). She was the cherry on the sundae this day.

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am with my Supper Club idea and I was just glowing all evening. I was truly so happy, down to my very core. Thank you ladies for helping me feel like one of the girls! It is an honor, a blessing, a real treat.

Let’s go back to NY &Co. I walk in and the three SAs are all around the check out, as I was the only shopper at the time. One complemented me on my dress and said she can’t seem to pull herself together like I had. I told her it took me many, many years to be able to pull myself together!

As I was checking out, the SA told me she loved my aesthetic! It is so hard these days to convey my gratitude anymore with masks on, but I will say, my knees buckled a bit. Never in my very long life could I have ever imagined ever receiving a complement like that. Nor could I ever imagine wanting one, nor could I have imagined how it would fill me with pride and a true sense of joy!

It’s good to be me, it’s great to have such wonderful friends!!

I am seriously considering having a December Supper Club Holiday Party, with the goal of raising funds for Betty’s organization (and getting all dolled up, which goes without saying). Initial plans are being discussed and I hope to use this as a platform to continue building a real world support group.

I am also planning a cooking class for the November Supper Club! As always, the welcome mat is out!
