October 14, 2020 – I was only able to get out once the previous week, so I was itching to do something! I had a holiday party planning meeting scheduled with my friend Betty, so of course, I made a day of it. This was day one of a planned five day Kandi run.
My day as Kandi started with a precarious escape from home. The coast was clear, I backed the car out and started to pull down the driveway when my neighbor came out to get his mail. I backed up a bit, waited until he got his mail, we exchanged waives and he headed into his garage, unaware I was dressed as you see below. Then I proceeded again when his wife drove into the driveway. I again back up, waited until they got in the garage and finally, off I went!
I wore a peach shift dress I picked up during the recent NY&Co. purges with a denim jacket. I could live my life in these dresses, just sayin’.
First stop, Piece Unique! I raided the 90% off racks for a cute pair of white jeans, a patterned pair of short shorts, a killer orange CK skirt and two everyday tops. $11 for an good 45 minutes of fun! The owner was thrilled to see me and I am treated so very well when I visit. It’s sad with the masks but I can see in her eyes she values me and she can probably see in my eyes the tears of joy I have when treated so well. I wish I could give her one of my trademark smiles!
A wonderful woman was checking out in front of me and told me how cute my new CK skirt was! We all talked a bit and my ears perked up when I was referred to as “she”. God, I love that place!
I ran a few errands, including a stop at Kohl’s and a lovely chat with the cashier.
Finally I picked up my dinner and then met with Betty and Daphne. My original plan to have a holiday party Supper Club that raised funds for Betty’s organization has grown into something I cannot believe! It is going to be tremendous for Betty, a fabulous time and a bit of an ego boost for yours truly. I cannot wait until it all comes together!
A simple day, a lovely day, a wonderful day being me!!
