Moments

October 4, 2020 – Every time I go out, there are moments that no one would even notice, but I do.

On this Sunday, my wife was off and I had scheduled a shift at the art museum. I had a dress all picked out but at the last minute, I decided on this outfit and was very pleased. It’s a lovely Nine West pinstripe blazer with a shell and matching skirt. I was very happy with myself on this morning.

The complement from my wife was a great way to start my day!

I got dressed early and headed out the door for my usual photoshoot, as well as for breakfast. There was a light rain, but not enough to deter my planned outdoor pictures. I stopped at a local outdoor shopping mall and set up in front of Talbot’s. I love the iconic red door!

So I snapped quite a few pictures that I was quite pleased with. The lighting was very favorable and no one paid me any attention.

I then headed over to First Watch for breakfast. They have a great “superfoods” bowl and I had coffee as well. The waiter was very sweet, you could tell he was smiling at me under his mask. A moment….. I enjoyed my meal and no one paid me any particular attention.

I reported for duty and said hello to my co-workers for the day. One of them complemented me on my skirt. A moment….. The other was a woman I had spent quite a deal of time with in the past (pre-COVID) getting to know and it was great to reconnect. As I left for the day, she told me how “well put together” I was. A moment……. I have gotten that specific complement, “well put together”, frequently of late. That is literally my goal every time out.

During my shift a group of three young couples came in. I greeted them and they said they had never been to the museum before. Where should they start? I offered some suggestions. Then one of the ladies said to the group that “she” suggested we start over here. She…..that’s me…..a moment…….

I was chatting with the woman behind the Member Desk, with whom I was working when we started a lovely conversation with a patron, a woman with a British accent. After about a ten minute conversation, she said “Ladies, have a great day!”. Ladies……I was one of those ladies……..a moment……

I could write this blog for 20 years and will comment every single time I am referred to, very naturally, but others as she. It never, ever gets old!
