Museum Days

October 1, 2020 – An odd day. My wife is on vacation. I was also off. I had volunteered for an art museum shift. So we slept in (believe me, for one or both of us to sleep past 7:00 AM is tantamount to an appearance by Halley’s Comet). I commandeered the bathroom and got ready. Kandi prep is usually done while my wife is at work.

I wore an Eva Mendes skirt, a simple t-shirt and these adorable earrings I picked up recently for almost nothing at NY&Co. This might be my favorite most recent close up. It’s kinda me…..

Got ready, drove to the museum, shot some outdoor photos and assumed my position for my shift. It pleases me to no end to walk into the art museum and have person after person that works there greet me by name, with a smile (at least I think so behind those masks) and a waive.

I wish I had a story to tell, but I worked my shift and headed to my salon on the way home for a haircut (long overdue). Now you need to understand I go to the salon as Kandi to get MY (male) hair cut. The place is full of predominantly women, getting perms, colorings, mani/pedis and then I walk in. No one even noticed! The doll who is the masked receptionist, always complements me and I always love that!

Dana, my stylist, whom I adore, complemented me on my attire and tells me she loves my hair! I then remove it, she cuts my hair, I replace the wig and off I go! Why wouldn’t I?

The day continued in male mode, so I won’t bore you with that. The jacket was because it was cool that day (the beginning of October) and the photo without the jacket was how museum patrons saw me this day.
