October Supper Club

October 8, 2020 – This Supper Club was held at a wonderful place, Stir Studio Kitchen, where we learn how to cook and prepare our meal. This evening we did Chinese take out food. Since anyone who wanted to attend had to sign up directly with Stir, I had no idea how many and who would be attending.

Being honest, I could not have been more disappointed and then, absolutely thrilled! I was disappointed only two others signed up. Very disappointed. But when I found out they were Carrie and Annie, I was over the moon! As I found out this evening, Annie loves to cook and Carrie is Carrie, a spark plug and a bright light in any room she is in. Ladies, I love you both and cannot tell you what our friendship means to me.

There is not a huge story to tell. These ladies, whom I met working for North Coast Men’s Chorus, are such great friends and I am proud to know them. Frankly, I am blessed beyond words to know them. We learned, we laughed, we chopped food, we stir fried, we imbibed (not all of us, but me, of course) and we ate. We did what I envisioned Supper Club to be, we did what the world needs more of, we simply enjoyed each other’s company. Doesn’t it look like they are having fun???? Our hosts, Charlie and Madison were the cherries on the sundae: fun, accepting, delightful. Money well spent. Time even better spent!

I picked this t-shirt up and the NY&Co. liquidation sale and paired it with black jeans, a white jacket, new sunglasses (NY&Co., too) and heels (to help nurse my bruised Achilles).

I got dressed way too early on a picture perfect day and headed across town to just poke around various stores.

I did some damage at two stops. At the on-going Stein Mart liquidation sale, I picked up a Jessica H., all-white, bell sleeved dress and a wonderful plaid blazer for less than $15 total! Then I hit a favorite Volunteers of America store and picked up a great blouse with pinks and greys in it and a lovely blue bolero snug. Yeah, that $3 hurt!

I had a wonderful day and evening and am so blessed to be able to do whatever it is that I do, do….

Carrie and Annie, thank you again!! Charlie and Madison, who will probably never see this, you are wonderful people and Stir is a fabulous place. I wish you great success and will do whatever I can to help.

Check out our Supper Club page. November will be held at a fantastic Italian restaurant and December will be our Christmas in Kandi’s Land extravaganza! No really, it will be an extravaganza.
