I cannot thank Dee enough for chronicling her week out. I hope I got everything right in presenting it here. She was kind enough to share the e-mail she received from Victoria, the sales angel discussed on Day Six.
From Dee: I’m not sure what made me walk into your store or why I stopped to chat (I guess I was listening to you and Diane talk), but I guess I need to thank whatever angel was sitting on my shoulder.
Meeting you today was an unexpected joy. As I said, I’ve been wanting to dress for 50+ years. Three years ago, I screwed up the courage and faced my fears, and found lots of accepting people like you.
When I met my friend Michelle, I wrote on our CD board that she wasn’t accepting, she was giddy that I was a crossdresser. She still is today. I’m going to put you in the giddy category too.
I enjoyed the conversation, the advice, the smile, but mostly the elation in your heart that made me feel special. I’m still on a high.
Sitting outside the Wrigley building, enjoying the day (and a coke–I don’t do coffee), sitting in a beautiful dress, with a smile on my face. You didn’t make my day. You made my week.
I have some writing to do for my guest post (s) in the blog, but I will be writing about today, and sending you the link.
The irony is I take pride in what I write, and how I look–but I can’t show anyone who only knows the guy me the post. Maybe someday, but likely not.
Found the green dress, and bought it. As promised, I will send proper pictures with my sexier heels when I get the chance.
Until then, a few from today and this past week, and very happy I made your day.
From Victoria: Dee.. I cannot begin to describe what an absolute joy it was to meet you yesterday. I so appreciated just how open, honest and vulnerable you allowed yourself to be with us. It is truly an enriching feeling to find different forms of yourself and experience the indescribable joy of finally “feeling right.” Your story, your journey, and just you as an individual… all of it is an absolute inspiration. You should be proud of yourself. I look forward to keeping in contact with you and would love to sit down for a tasty cocktail at a fabulous spot whenever you happen to make your way to Chicago for girl time again. The green dress is just so fabulous… the heels were absolute perfection. Continue on.. live your absolute fullest.. notice the details and the beautiful little things we encounter in every day life, and most importantly.. continue to love and grow as the individual you are, in whatever way shape or form!
Xoxo Cheers darlin.
Thank you.Victoria
My sincere appreciation. This pleased me to no end! Dee will grace us with a trip in her wayback machine over the next few Sundays! I’ve very pleased to continue Sundays With Dee for a few more weeks.
